I am a high end furniture maker by trade, and I started making these rolling pins out of lumber I sourced for those jobs. When I start a job I am combing through the hundreds of boards to find the perfect pieces for my clients. I often find one board that stands out from the rest, it may not play nicely with the other boards I have for my client, but it will be perfect to split it up into many smaller objects that even more people can enjoy.
I wanted to make a rolling pin that stands out among the standard taper style. A furniture makers touch on a centuries old form. A simple round finial, for grip, but really just because I like how it looks.
These rolling pins are made by hand, sanded to a high sheen, and coated with food safe mineral oil for beauty and protection. Each one is a little different by nature, as each board, and each tree are a variation on a theme.
Small: 14" long
Medium: 18" long
Large: 22" long

Some are limited, which means I do not have steady access to this wood, and may never find suitable stock again.
Limited Stock:
- Ambrosia Maple - highly figured maple with more dark streaking and varied coloration compared to curly maple.
- Figured Walnut - I recently found a stunning board of figured walnut hidden in a stack of rustic walnut stock, it will be available soon.
- Curly Maple - Tight curl figure that dances in the light, more likely to become available than ambrosia maple
